Sikkim is a small, mountainous state in Northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet (China), and Nepal. Renowned for its dramatic landscapes, it is home to Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world.
About Sikkim
Biodiversity: Approximately 35% of the state is covered by the Khangchendzonga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to rare species like the snow leopard and red panda.
Culture: The population consists primarily of three ethnic groups: Lepcha, Bhutia, and Nepali. Major cultural highlights include Buddhist monasteries (like Rumtek and Pemayangtse) and festivals such as Losar and Saga Dawa.
